Currently, the People's Police Academy strives to achieve
recognition as the country’s key educational institutions, deserve the position
and role of the leading school in the people's police force throughout the
process of regional and international integration. In that progression ,
People's Police Academy has been concentrating all resources, prioritizing
constructive investment and
developing itself into a ranking educational, applied and multi-disciplinary
training institution; reaching national and heading to regional and
international standards; becoming a
center for training well-qualified human
resources in the undergraduate and postgraduate level and cultivating leaders
and commanders at the strategic level of the people's police force; educating
several necessary fields for the people's police which other institutions have
yet been able to train to meet the requirements and tasks of protecting the
national security, ensuring social order and safety as well as socio-economic development.

Abstract: The People’s Police Academy (PPA) is one of the top high quality institutions of the Vietnamese People’s Police Force in term of education, training and science researching. In recent years, under the leadership of the Leaders from the Ministry of Public Security (MPS)’s and the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET), the PPA’s works of education and training have largely been enhanced and remarkable achievements have been recorded. These gained achievements have been largely consolidated the Academy’s political requirements and for the honor status of the people’s police.

Being a constituent part of the people's Public Security force, playing a pivotal role in ensuring traffic order and safety, contributing to the peaceful life of the people, the Traffic Police has become a reflection of all types of mass media and has become a bridge to bold the image of Traffic Police in the people’s mind.

On May 15th, 1968, the Ministry of Public Security issued Decision 514 CA / QD separating the People's Police Branch from the Central Police School, establishing the People's Police School for secondary training of the people’s police force. May 15th, 1968 is also the birth date of the People's Police School and is the traditional day of the People’s Police Academy.

Being deeply aware of directives and resolutions of Party and Government on education and training, the Congress of Party Delegation of the PPA in term 2015 - 2020 identified “a strong innovation”, synchronization of elements in education and training as key tasks, which create breakthroughs for improvement of the quality and meet the requirements and tasks of national security protection, fighting against crime and ensuring social order and safety.
