The event was also attended by Politburo member and standing member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, Le Hong Anh; Minister of Public Security, Sen-Lieut.Gen. Tran Dai Quang; and representatives from a number of ministries and sectors.
Speaking at the ceremony, PM Nguyen Tan Dung congratulated and praised the outstanding achievements recorded by the academy over the past 45 years. The PM also asked the academy to continue to uphold its heroic traditions, to develop into a key university of the policing sector in particular and for the nation in general, as well as improving its contribution to ensuring political security and social order.
Over almost 45 years, the academy has trained nearly 40,000 officers including 36,000 officers at tertiary and post-graduate education levels. It has also performed as a key training facility for criminal investigators serving in the Vietnam People's Army and other sectors.
The ceremony also saw the, academy awarded with the Labour Order first class, by the Lao Government and the Friendship Order by the Cambodian Government.
