The People’s Police Academy belongs to the undergraduate training system of the country with the function of "Training the police cadres with graduate and postgraduate levels; training and improving the leading cadres of the people’s police force of the Ministry of Public Security; is a research center of the people’s police force".

The People's Police Academy carries out the mission of undergraduate training with three large majors: Criminal investigation, Administration Management on social order, Prisoner Education and Rehabilitation and eight narrow majors, including: Criminal investigation for hot traces, Anti-economy related Crime Investigation, Criminal investigation for Proceedings, Anti-Drug related Crime Investigation, Scene of Crime Investigation, Administration Management on Social Order, Administration Management on Traffic Safety, Prisoner education and rehabilitation.
