On April 4th, 2019, at the PPA, General Chan Ean, Secretary of State of the Interior Ministry of Cambodia had a working session on the work of Cambodian students and cadets at training institutions under the cooperation between the Cambodian Ministry of Interior and the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security.
The delegation, led by Mr. Chan Ean, is accompanied by General Sovanty, Deputy General of Secretariat of Cambodian Interior Ministry, Lieutenant General Mia Chansokphol, Vice President of Police Academy of Cambodia, representatives of Department of Personnel and Organization, Department of International Relations.
Welcoming and working with the delegation were Major General, Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Huong, President of the PPA, Senior Colonel Bui Son Hien, Deputy Director of Training Department, MPS, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA and the representatives of police training institutions in the North of Vietnam.
Overview of the meeting
In recent years, the Vietnamese police training institutions have effectively implemented the international cooperation in education and training, one of which is providing training courses for foreign law enforcement officers. As for Cambodia, every year, the Cambodia Ministry of Interior and Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security signed the Cooperation Plan with various law enforcement issues, including training cooperation.

In the report to the delegation, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA, on behalf of Northern police training institutions, presented the positive results of training and fostering of officials and students of the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia. He determined the importance of the training for international students in general and Cambodian in particular. According to the direction of the Ministry of Public Security, the police training institutions have grasped thoroughly the regulations on student management for the international students; assigned the experienced management officers; well performed the coordination between student management officers and lecturers to monitor and supervise the international students.
Besides, the police training institutions have raised the sense of responsibility in education and training for international students, arranged the best conditions for Cambodian officials and students, cared about their physical and spiritual life. The report also evaluated the training situation of Cambodian officials and students; highlighted the advantages and pointed out the shortcomings in the management and training. The report also provided some proposals and recommendations for the preparation of the cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia in the future.

Speaking at the meeting, Major General, Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Huong, President of the PPA encouraged the Cambodian officials and students to overcome all difficulties, abide by regulations, live in harmony with the Vietnamese officials, lecturers and students during their study and research in Vietnam. The police training institutions always choose the enthusiastic, qualified and experienced lecturers to provide the necessary knowledge for the international students. The President of the PPA also suggested organizing the free Vietnamese language classes for the Cambodian students in order to support their acquirement of knowledge and research of learning materials.
