The fifth ‘Red Sunday’ blood drive which was held by Tien Phong (Pioneer) Newspaper and the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion at the Vietnam National University in Hanoi and ThaiNguyen University on January 20. More than 1,400 young people donated over 1,000 blood units during this year’s event.
The blood units collected on ‘Red
Sunday’ will be donated to the treatment of patients in hospitals which are
usually short of blood over Tet (Lunar New Year).
Accompanying with young people in Hanoi, the PPA students
also attended actively to the well-significant movement. They not only donated
blood but also joined in parading and dancing to call people for donating their
blood.
This is an occasion for the PPA
students to express their compassionate heart to the community.
Besides, every year, the PPA
cooperating with the 19-8
Hospital and the National
Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion launches blood donation movement
at the academy which attracts participation of all students with the title “Sentimental blood for beloved
comrades”.
