On December 24th, at the Temple
of Literature in Hanoi, the National Council of Professor
Title held the ceremony to present certificates to the newly entitled
professors and associate professors. The PPA was also honored 4 associate
professors this year.
Member of the Politburo,
Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Head of the Party Central
Commission for Information and Education Dinh The Huynh; Member of the Party
Central Committee, Minister of Education and Training and Chairman of the
National Council of Professor Title, Professor, Doctor Pham Vu Luan; and other
senior officials attended the event.
At this ceremony, 42 lecturers
and 427 others were promoted to professors and associate professors,
respectively, in 2012. The number of teachers and lecturers from universities
and institutions honored this year was greater than the previous year with 34
and 374 respectively in 2011.

Phung Ho Hai, the 42 year-old
Deputy Head of Viet Nam Academy of Science and Technology's Institute of
Mathematics, became the youngest professor in Viet Nam. Nguyen Khanh Dieu Hong,
a 31 year-old teacher at Ha Noi University of Science and Technology, became
the country's youngest associate professor.
Also, public security force had one new professor was Major General Le Minh Hung, Deputy Director of People Security Academy. Ten public security scientists were promoted associate professors this year, in which the People Security Academy had 2 associate professors, four associate professors were real officers at police units, concurrently lectures within academies and colleges public security. The PPA was also honored 4 associate professors was Senior Lieutenant-Colonel, Assoc.Prof Nguyen Dac Hoan, Head of the Anti-economy related crime investigation; Senior Lieutenant-Colonel Bui Minh Trung, Deputy Head of the Anti-Drug related crime investigation; Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Dinh Ban, Deputy Head of the Traffic Police Faculty and Senior Lieutenant-Colonel Do Van Tho, Deputy Head of Criminal Psychology. |
