On March 14th 2019, the closing ceremony of the training course on Human Trafficking Combating and Victim Support was held at the People’s Police Academy (PPA). The course is results from the cooperation between the PPA and Pacific Links Foundation (PALS). Major General, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Vice President of PPA presided at the event.
Attending the Closing Ceremony, there were Ms. Luong Hong Loan - Program Vice Director of PALS and representation of functional departments of PPA, lecturers and students of the training course.
At the Closing Ceremony, Major General, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - emphasized that: human trafficking crime is currently growing in a complicated manner. The United Nations identified human trafficking as one of the most dangerous crimes in the world. Most importantly, it has complicatedly developed in Asia-Pacific region including Vietnam. Therefore, the improvement of knowledge and skills for law enforcement forces including the police forces, who directly work to against this type of crime. The course, therefore, is very necessary and practical. With the view to improve the capacity for police force in term of preventing and combating the human trafficking crime, PPA and PALS have cooperated in carrying out many effective activities. One of which is developing the specialized training manual on ‘Human Trafficking Combating and Victim Support’. This course is the very first formal application of the training manual.
On behalf of the Directorate Board of PPA, Mr. Dang Xuan Khang expressed his sincere thanks for the effective coordination of PALS in organizing this course. He also encouraged PALS to continue cooperating with PPA to implement other training courses on human trafficking and victim support. He also required the trainees of this course to apply the knowledge and skills learned into their daily works and research careers.
