On 22nd August 2022, Lt.Gen.Prof.Dr Tran Minh Huong - President of the People’s Police Academy (PPA) welcomed the delegation of the Royal Thai Police Cadet Academy (RPCA) led by Lt.Gen.Dr. Thachai Pitaneelaboot - Commissioner of the RPCA.
Leaders of the two academies discuss directions of cooperation in the future
PPA President Tran Minh Huong highly appreciated the meaningful visit paid by the RPCA to the PPA and affirmed that the RPCA is one of the most valuable, extensive and practical partners of the PPA in the region and in the world. He also expressed deep gratitude for the willingness of the RPCA for continuing to sponsor 02 cadets of the PPA to pursue an undergraduate course in the RPCA and assured that the PPA would select the most excellent cadets who meet all criteria and standards for studying in Thailand.
Lt. Gen.Dr Thatchai Pitaneelaboot - Commissioner of the RPCA shared that he had been one of the most active actors to contribute and develop the friendship between the two academies and also a person who had personally greeted PPA’s cadets since their first days in RPCA. It was therefore the Commissioner of the RPCR once again sent an invitation to request the PPA’s nomination of its best cadets to spend their next academic years in Thailand from late 2022. In addition, the RPCA also welcomed PPA’s officers, lecturers who wanted to pursue their Master’s degrees in Law and Criminology in the RPCA. Another important comment by the Commissioner was that he hoped for cooperation on scientific research, especially as the hot issues as anti-cybercrime, will be strengthened by both academies. He also shared an idea of establishing a database sharing center to facilitate information exchange between two countries while many Vietnamese cadets have graduated from RPCA.
Leaders of the two academies exchanged souvenir gifts
At the meeting, leaders of the two academies had come to an agreement on implementing several cooperation activities according to the MOU in the coming time, including continuing to send high-level delegations to visit each institution; organizing short-term training courses for officers, lecturers and cadets of both academies; exchanging academic materials, information and learning police training models of each other, in this regard, the RPCA willingly welcomed Vietnamese delegates to visit and learn the newest Police Training Center of the RPCA, organize cultural exchange and sports programs to tighten the relationship between two academies’ staff and lecturers.
After the official visit to the PPA’s campus, the RPCA’s delegation also paid a brief visit to the Hoan Kiem Police Station, paid tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his Mausoleum and visited several famous places for tourism in Hanoi.
