On September 17th, 2019, the PPA welcomed and worked with a high-ranking delegation of Sri Lankan National Police led by Mr. Sanjeewa Dharmaratna - Deputy Inspector General of the Sri Lanka Police.
Major General, Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Huong, President of the PPA chaired the meeting with the participation of Senior Colonel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Cong Nguyen, Vice President of the PPA and representative leaders of the functional units of the Academy.
The objective of the Sri Lanka Police’s visit to PPA is to concretize the cooperation programs in accordance with the content of the Memorandum of Understanding which was signed in 2018 between the PPA and the National Police Academy of Sri Lanka.
At the meeting, Major General Tran Minh Huong warmly welcomed the delegation of Sri Lankan Police to visit and work at the PPA. He affirmed that PPA was willing to support the National Police Academy and Nation Police College of Sri Lanka in the field of its strength such as forensic science, prevention of drug-related crimes, high-tech crime, environmental crimes, human trafficking crimes. He also mentioned that the two sides should prepare a concrete plan of implementation the MoU with the approval of the MPS leader.

On behalf of the Sri Lankan Police delegation, Mr. Sanjeewa Dharmaratna expressed the thankfulness for the warm welcome from the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam as well as the PPA.
He also expressed that the Sri Lanka delegation would like to cooperate with the PPA in exchanging cadres, lecturers and students to attend short-term training courses on crime scene protection, autopsy and other specialized courses.
In return, the lead of Sri Lanka delegation mentioned that with more than 25 years of experience in training officers for UN peacekeeping, the Sri Lanka Police was ready to support the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam as well as the PPA in selecting and training officers to join this force.
At the end of the meeting, the Sri Lankan Police and the PPA agreed to strengthen and promote cooperation activities in areas of mutual interest, support each other at international forums, conferences and seminars that had the participation of the two sides.
