Senior Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. To Lam - Member of Politburo of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Secretary of Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security to visit and work at the PPA
This is the attentions and encouragement of the Party, the State, the Ministry of Public Security for the achievements that generations of officers, lecturers, employees and students of the PPA have gained in nearly 50 years of building and development.

2. The PPA was honored by the Government with the emulation flag "The leading unit in the emulation movement for the Homeland Security"
With the great achievements, the PPA was honored by the Government with the emulation flag "The leading unit in the emulation movement for the Homeland Security" in the academic year 2016 - 2017. 06 units were awarded emulation flags by the Ministry of Public Security. 06 units were awarded emulation flags by the General Political Department and many collectives and individuals were rewarded. This is the recognition of leaders at the Academy’s efforts, innovation, dynamism and creativity in carrying out the assigned tasks which is a practical achievement towards the celebration the 50th anniversary of the founding of the Academy.

3. Successfully organized the English Teaching Contest and the Doctoral Defense in English.
The PPA is the pioneer in organizing the English Teaching Contest and organizing Doctoral Defense in English, marking a remarkable step in the process of innovation, enhancing the quality of education and training, affirming the leading role of the PPA in the Public Security schools.

4. Scientific research activities are promoted and achieved high results
The Academy has successfully organized many prestigious scientific conferences, especially "The October Revolution in Russia - The formation and development of the public security system of socialist countries in the world and experience for the Vietnamese People’s Public Security"; scientific conference "The 4.0 revolution and the problems posed to education and training in the People's Public Security force"... These are the major scientific conferences, which are defined as the main missions to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the PPA.

The compilation of the major collections is completed, those are: The Collection of Criminal Sentence and Judicial Assistance, The Collection of Administrative Management on Social Order and Safety; Completed 03 dictionaries: Russian-Vietnamese Police Dictionaries, English - Vietnamese, Vietnamese - Lao. The Academy has been implementing hundreds of scientific projects at all levels, especially 03 State - level scientific projects and key scientific projects of Ho Chi Minh City.

5. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the foundation of the Center for Criminology and Criminal Investigation Research
Over 10 years of development, striving and growing up, the Center for Criminology and Criminal Investigation Research has made great progress; being always active, creative and effectively implement many theoretical and practical issues in the crime prevention and combat, ensuring social order and safety. The Center has affirmed its position as one of the leading scientific research units in the field of Criminology and Criminal Investigation of the People's Police and the whole country.

6. Introducing a new interface of The Information Portal, The Internal Website of the Academy and other units
In order to promote the application of information technology in the management, administration, teaching, research and study activities of officers and learners, contributing to "building the smart academy", the Academy has developed and introduced a new interface of The Information Portal (including languages: Vietnamese, English, Chinese). All units of the Academy have built their own internal website. This is an important event marking a new development in modernization, administrative procedures reform and propaganda of the Academy, contributing to promote the position of the Academy in the system of national universities in general, and in the Public Security schools in particular.

7. Organized a 10 year review of the Socio - Political Practices Program for students
This is a practical and effective training model, which helps students to have practical lessons to experience, accumulate skills, thereby meeting the training requirements of the Academy. Over 10 years of implementation in 10 localities across the country, the program of social-political practice has really become a very private brand of the PPA. It has been making beautiful images, impressive marks and good feelings about the Public Security forces in general, officers and students of the PPA in particular. The Ministry of Public Security replicated the model through the Public Security schools.

8. Successfully held the 17th Congress of representatives of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of PPA for the 2017 - 2022
On April 14th 2017, the Academy organized the 17th Congress of representatives of the Communist Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh for the 2017 - 2020 with many innovations, both in terms of content and organization. The congress summarized and objectively assessed the achievements and pointed out the shortcomings and lessons learned in the Youth Union and the Youth Movement for the 2014-2017 term and set out the direction and action plan for the youth of the PPA for the 2017-2020 period under the slogan of action "Youth of the PPA of innovation, creativity, start-up, jointly build the PPA to become a national key education institution."

9. The Academy’s teams won many high prizes in major competitions
With careful preparation and effort of both teachers and students, the students of the Academy attended the Olympic competitions, scientific research have achieved high results such as: the 26th Informatics Olympic for Vietnamese students and the International Programmer, the PPA’s team won 01 First Prize, 01 Second Prize and 01 consolation Prize; the National Olympic of Marxist-Leninist Science and Ho Chi Minh Ideology organized by the Central Youth Union of Ho Chi Minh and Ministry of Education and Training, the PPA’s team won the first prize at the grassgroots level; The Russian Olympic organized by the Russian Culture and Science Center, the PPA’s team won 01 First Prize, 02 Second Prizes. At the "Awarding Ceremony of the students for national science research in 2017" organized by the Ministry of Education and Training, the Academy’s students won 01 second prize, 03 third prizes and 02 consolation prizes.

The Labor Union of the Academy won the first prize of the "Driving well, driving safely" contest organized by the Labor Union of People Public Security. The Academy’s Women Union on behalf of the Ministry’s Women Union won the Special Prize of the propaganda contest “12th National Congress of Women”. The Academy’s Volleyball team won gold medal in the league for strong forces in 2017.

10. Built and inaugurated some major structures
The Academy has completed and put into use many big projects such as the stadium of the Academy; has inaugurated the first phase of the training and professional practice area, the statue of revolutionist Ph.D.Edgieczinxki - founder the first social public security force in the world; the cultural reading room Vietnam - Japan. These are the key projects that have practical significance to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the foundation of the People's Police Academy; These will create a highlight, bring a new face for the Academy, contributing to improve the system of facilities, serving effectively for the education and training of the Academy.
