The event was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Major General Le Van Thang, Director of the PSA.

The workshop also saw the presence of international delegates and experts from the USA, Australia, Israel, Singapore and Mongolia.

According to the Online Trust Alliance, 2018 witnessed over 2 million cyber-attacks causing a total loss of 45 billion USD, said Major General Le Van Thang. The actual numbers might be much higher as many cyber-incidents were never reported.

The world continues to see various new forms of cybercrimes in 2019 with more sophisticated and unpredictable tricks and strategies amid the developing technology environment.

Delegates at the workshop shared methods to recognize cyber risks and challenges as well as the USA and Israel’s experience in ensuring information security and cyber security. They also gave various useful recommendations on cyber and information security to Vietnam.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh thanked the international delegates for sharing their expertise and experience.

He also asked the PSA to collect and study ideas and recommendations to perfect its training program on information and cyber security. It should also advice the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security to promote cooperation effectively in training human resources for information security, and craft policies to ensure information and cyber security in the context of Industry 4.0.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh presented the certificates of copyright to the domestic and international authors with scientific reports posted on the workshop proceedings.
