New Director of USAID Wildlife Asia pays courtesy visit to PPA
Overview of the meeting

Speaking at the meeting, Senior Colonel, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Cong Nguyen, Vice President of the PPA congratulated Mr. Peter Collier for being the new Director of UWA and hoped that Mr. Peter Collier would support and promote the cooperation activities of UWA, especially the relationship with the PPA to be more successful and effective in the coming time.

In recent years, the PPA has collaborated with non-governmental organizations, international organizations, especially agencies of U.S. Government. In particular, the cooperation activities with the USAID Wildlife Asia have achieved many results in the prevention and combat of transnational organized crime and crimes relating to illegal wildlife trade in the context of these crimes are very complicated, making many wildlife and rare species at risk of extinction.

On behalf of the PPA, the President of the Academy received the invitation of USAID Wildlife Asia to nominate 02 PPA’s lecturers to give lectures at the 6th Training Course on National Transnational Organized Crime Prevention in Cameroon. He pledged that the PPA would assign the experienced and professional lecturers who were directly researching and teaching prevention and combat of transnational organized crime, environmental crime.

On behalf of the UWA, Mr. Peter Collier, as the new Director, pledged to actively promote and support cooperative activities between the two sides. Especially, through organizing the training courses, lecturer training, compiling materials, he would support to the aim of building the PPA to become the regional leading training institute in the field of wildlife protection. Mr. Peter Collier also wished the PPA Directorate would create favorable conditions for the implementation of cooperation activities between the two sides.
