Training course on “Counter Transnational Organized Crime” at PPA

The training course had the participation of experts from INTERPOL, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Thailand Anti-Money Laundering Office, Cambodian Drug Prevention Department, USAID, General Department of Taxation of Vietnam, the Department of Anti Money Laundering of Vietnam and the PPA. The purpose of the course is to provide and improve knowledge and skills of prevention and investigation of transnational organized crime relating to wildlife trading for law enforcement officers in countries where have complicated situation of these crimes, such as: Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Kenya, Mozambique, Uganda, Malawi, Tanzania and Vietnam.

 

Expert of INTERPOL gave lecture at the training course

After 06 training days, on March 30th, 2019, the PPA organized the closing ceremony and presented Certificates to participants of the training course. At the closing ceremony, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Chat, Vice President of the PPA congratulated the organizers, lecturers and participants for the success of the training course. He also desired that USAID Wildlife Asia, INTERPOL and the PPA would have more opportunities to cooperate in training relating to crime prevention, especially transnational organized crime in the coming time.

On behalf of USAID Wildlife Asia, Mr. Salvatore Amato - Head of Law Enforcement force, USAID Wildlife Asia sent his most sincere thanks to the PPA for co-organizing and supporting the facilities for the successful training course. Mr. Salvatore Amato also hoped that the delegates would effectively apply the knowledge and experience from the training course into the fight against crimes, especially transnational organized crime involving wildlife to contribute to the protection of endangered, precious and rare wildlife species from extinction.
