On 27th July, 2013, the PPA Youth
Union participated in first cross-country blood donation campaign with the
title of “Red Journey” at My Dinh stadium, Hanoi.
The ‘Red Journey
Campaign’ to donate blood was organized by the National Institute of Hematology
and Blood Transfusion and the Hanoi Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood
Donation to mark the 66th anniversary of the War Invalids and Martyrs Day. This
is a meaningful activity that began in southern most Ca Mau province on July 7
and has gone through 15 cities and provinces in total for 22 days, attracted participation
of thousands of young people. During the campaign, organizers collected
thousands of units of blood from 300,000 volunteers, for the blood bank at the
National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion for treatment of
patients.

Sending out a
message “each heart, each heroic flame”, the campaign has been enthusiastically
responded by young people from the PPA with over ten ones, among whom there are
those who have regularly donated blood, like Lieutenant Bui Hoang Ly Ly, youth
union police official of the PPA, who has given her blood for the donated fifteen
times.

Besides, the
event also included other activities to call for more blood donation, an
artistic exchange of “ each heart- each heroic flame”, a closing ceremony for
the “Trans-Vietnam Red journey” and a program “Vietnamese voices” to select
good messages for new millennium development goals after 2015.
