MPS strengthens COVID-19 prevention and control in the forces

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son affirmed that the Public Security Forces along with the whole country have achieved remarkable results in the first phase of COVID-19 prevention and control. However, the COVID-19 situation has become more complicated developments over the past time. Therefore, the Public Security Forces should be more active in the disease prevention and control in the coming time.

Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kinh, President of the Vietnam Infectious Association, former Director of the Central Hospital of Tropical Diseases updated the delegates on the current situation of COVID-19 while emphasizing the important role of the Public Security Forces in the disease prevention and control.

He noted that it is very important for those who have had close contacts with Covid-19 patients or returned from Covid-19 hit areas to voluntarily declare their health status to local authorities. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kinh suggested, people should always wear medical facemasks when going out, properly wash their hands with hand sanitizers and regularly disinfect their houses and workplaces.

He also stressed the authorities should continually update information about the disease situation and recommend people with symptoms of COVID-19 to go to medical establishments for examination.

* On the same day, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son inspected the production of three-layer antibacterial facemasks at the 19/5 Company under the Department of Security Industry.

He requested the MPS’s functional units to urgently devise detailed plans on the distribution of masks and other necessary equipment to all public security agencies and units, creating favorable conditions for the them to fulfill their assigned tasks.
