MPS ensures security and safe for people during Tet holiday 2020

Major General To An Xo, Chief of the Ministerial Office briefed the delegates on the results of the task performance of the Public Security Forces during the Tet holiday and major missions of the forces after Tet.


Overview of the conference.

According to the report, public security agencies and units at all levels have implemented effectively the instructions of the Party, State and MPS leaders on public order and security, contributing to ensuring a safe and happy Tet for the people across the country.

During the Tet holiday, the security situation in key areas and big cities was well ensured. The number of criminal cases decreased 9.46% compared to same period of last year; 198 traffic accidents decreased happened in the country (down by 10.81%), causing 133 people dead and 174 injured (down by 5% and 17.53% respectively). All public places and activities for celebrating the Tet were absolutely safe.


Minister To Lam speaks at the conference.

Speaking at the conference, Minister To Lam acknowledged and praised the efforts of all public security officers on duty during the 2020 Tet, saying that they had overcome difficulties and successfully completed their tasks. Regarding the key tasks in the coming time, the minister asked the leaders of all public security agencies and units to:

- Focus on the implementation of their first quarter plans.

- Implement the MPS's plans on ensuring absolute security and safety for major events on the occasion of the 90th anniversary of the establishment of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2020).

- Collaborate with relevant agencies and forces to proactively deploy forces and means to ensure public order, security and safety for the ASEAN 36 Summit (April 6-9, 2020 in Da Nang city).

- Draw up and effectively implement plans to ensure security and traffic safety for 2020 Spring festivals.

- Strictly implement Directive No.05 of the Prime Minister on prevention and control of the respiratory diseases caused by new coronavirus.

- Focus on ensuring political security, economic security, cultural security and cyber-security.

- Enhance the fight against serious crimes, particularly social order violations, drug trafficking, environmental, economic and high-tech crimes; stamp out criminal gangs; prevent theft, robbery and other crimes at 2020 Spring festivals.
