MPS promotes scientific research for operations of People’s Security Forces

Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang, Deputy Minister of Public Security, chaired the conference. The conference also saw the presence of Mr. Le Xuan Dinh, Deputy Minister of Science and Technology, Mr. Vu Van Hien, Deputy Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council and other representatives from various agencies and units under the MPS.

At the conference, the delegates were briefed on the results of scientific research conducted by public security agencies and units in the past five years implementing Resolution No. 16 and Directive No. 02. The conference also listened to reports on the implementation of typical agencies and units.

Over the past five years, the Public Security Central Party Committee and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security have always attached great importance to promoting scientific research in the public security forces and strengthening the contingent of public security scientists and experts in terms of both quantity and quality. 
 
In the past five years, public agencies and units have completed more than 400 high-quality scientific research projects, which have been appraised and successfully applied to practical operations of the public security forces. In addition, research agencies and units have also conducted 20 historical studies that have provided valuable primary historical sources for further research and clarified various historical events related to the history of the People's Public Security Forces, People’s Army and the Vietnamese Communist Party.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang recognized and praised the achievements obtained by public security agencies and units in scientific research over the past years.

Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang requested public security agencies and units at all levels to overcome the existing shortcomings and limitations, attaching importance to studying newly-arising issues related to public order and security while strengthening coordination with other ministries, agencies and organizations at home and abroad to conduct more valuable scientific projects for the operation of the Public Security Forces. He noted that People's public security research institutes and schools should take the lead in scientific and technological research. 


Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang awards the Certificates of Merit from the Ministry of Public Security to individuals with outstanding achievements in scientific research.

At the meeting, he also awarded Certificates of Merit from the Minister of Public Security to 18 units and 45 individuals with outstanding achievements.
