New contributions of the thesis:
The thesis is a comprehensive and in-depth research project on preventing crimes violating regulations on exit and entry in compliance with the functions of the Border Guard since the 2015 Penal Code (amended and supplemented in 2017) regulating crimes violating regulations on exit and entry. Accordingly, the thesis has the following new contributions:

1. Analyze, clarify, supplement and perfect the theory of preventing crimes that violate regulations on exit and entry in compliance with the functions of the Border Guard, particularly: concept building; clarifying requirements, content, and measures to prevent crimes violating regulations on exit and entry in compliance with the functions of the Border Guard.

2. Survey the current situation of crimes violating regulations on exit and entry in the Vietnam - China land border area such as: developments, structure, dynamics, characteristics of tricks and stratagems, identity of the criminal, etc.

3. Analyze, evaluate and clarify the current situation of crime prevention activities violating regulations on exit and entry in compliance with the functions of the Border Guard in Vietnam - China border provinces. At the same time, point out the limitations, shortcomings and causes of those limitations, as a basis for taking measures to overcome those limitations and shortcomings.

4. Put forward some practical solutions to improve the effectiveness of preventing crimes violating regulations on exit and entry in compliance with the functions of the Border Guard in Vietnam - China border provinces in the foreseeable future.
