On 9th October 2023, Major General, Dr. Chu Van Dung, PPA Vice President and Mr. Rod Jarman QPM, President of London Policing College represented for two institutions to officially sign the MOU between People’s Police Academy and London Policing College in Police Training and Research Cooperation. The Signing Ceremony was attended and witnessed by Mr. Nguyen Hoang Long, the Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the United Kingdom, members of PPA’s delegation, lecturers and staff of London Policing College, representatives from the University of West London.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Nguyen Hoang Long recognised the signing of the MOU between two institutions, especially on the occasion of 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relation between Vietnam and the UK. Moreover, the Ambassador emphasised the importance of international cooperation in education and committed that the Embassy of Vietnam will support cooperative activities between the parties in the future.

After the Signing Ceremony, two institutions had a discussion to implement cooperative activities under the MOU. In the end, the parties agreed to promote exchange of delegations to share information and experiences in police training; implement the exchange of students through short-term training programmes; assign experts to lecture at training courses and attend workshops, conferences…

Following the workplan, PPA’s delegtaion had a series of meetings with Ms. Sara Raybould - Vice Chancellor of the University of West London, represetative from the Nationl Crime Agency, paid a visit to Southall Police Station the as well as observing the operation of the Metropolitan Police in Central London.
