On September 20th, 2017, the PPA solemnly held the opening ceremony of Vietnamese - Japanese Cultural Hall.
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Toshiki Ando, Director of the Japan Foundation Center for Cultural Exchange in Vietnam; Senior Colonel Nguyen Hai Trung, Deputy General Director of General Department of Politics; Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the PPA and the foreign experts working at the Academy; representatives of the functional units of the General Department of Politics, the Department of Political Affairs and the PPA.

Over the past years, under the direction of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, the coordination with functional units, the PPA has implemented many effective international cooperation activities, especially the cooperation activities with Japanese partners such as the project “Support to strengthening Traffic Police Training at the PPA and Police Training Institutions in Vietnam” sponsored by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA); Karatedo volunteer program at the PPA; reception of the Japanese police delegations to exchange experience and assignment of the PPA delegations to work with Japanese partners.

Recognizing the results of the cooperation, the Board of Directors of the PPA has decided to build a Vietnamese - Japanese Cultural Hall in the systems of reading rooms of the PPA Library. The Cultural Hall will create the space for officers, lecturers and students to study and understand the culture, country and people of Japan, contributing to build the Vietnamese - Japanese friendship cooperation.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the PPA believed that the Vietnamese - Japanese Cultural Hall would not only be the place for the domestic and internationally officers, lecturers, students to study and research but also a symbol of friendship between two nations. The President of the PPA hoped that the functional units, agencies and organizations of Japan continued to interest, support materials to enrich the Cultural Hall.
