PPA receives delegation from Royal Thai Border Patrol Police Bureau

The delegation also had the participation of Lieutenant General Dawn Pinchaleow - former Commander of Royal Thai Border Patrol Police Bureau and the leaders of the Training Centers under the Thai Border Patrol Police.

At the meeting, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Vice President of the PPA introduced to the delegation about the process of building and development the Vietnamese People's Police Academy, the scale of education and training, the international cooperation of the PPA. Currently, the PPA has cooperated in education and training with 24 international agencies and organizations to improve the professional ability of officers, lecturers and students.

The Vice President of the PPA was pleased to inform the delegation about the development in cooperation between Vietnam People's Police Academy and Royal Thai Police Academy. Since 2008, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on training and scientific research, many activities of delegation exchanges, experience exchanges of between the two Academies has been deployed. In particular, 8 students of the PPA have graduated the university training program from the Royal Thai Police Academy and an officer of the PPA is pursuing a master's degree program at the Academy. These positive results are the bases for the two institutes continue to expand the content of cooperation in education - training in the coming time.

In addition to the relationship between the two Academies, the cooperation between the Vietnam Public Security Force and the Royal Thai Police is developing well. The PPA always hope to build the deeply cooperation in all areas with law enforcement agencies of Thailand, the Royal Thai Police, including the Border Patrol Police.


Colonel Phaithun Kulatnam - Deputy Director of Special Training Center - Royal Thai Border Patrol Police Bureau thanked for the reception of the PPA

On behalf of the delegation, Colonel Phaithun Kulatnam - Deputy Director of Special Training Center - Royal Thai Border Patrol Police Bureau introduced about the Thai Border Patrol Police force who are responsible for protecting national borders, making the reconnaissance in bordering areas and maintaining the close contact with people in remote and mountainous areas. The Border Patrol Police also carries out the civilian tasks such as building the medical stations, schools, airports, distribution of medicines, etc. The force also has the Air Force Division with the task of preparing and carrying out the landing operations, disaster prevention, rescue. In addition to the rescue function, this unit also performs the anti-terrorism missions.

Currently, the Royal Thai Border Patrol Police Bureau has 10 training centers nationwide that are in charge of organizing the training courses on searching and rescue, anti-terrorism, etc. Thus, Colonel Phaithun Kulatnam expressed the desire to cooperate with the Vietnamese People’s Police Academy on training.
