This is the first Ceremony for presenting Honorary Doctorate Degree held by National Public Security Academy of Cambodia. In June, 2016, after attending the summation conference of 20 years of doctoral training at the PPA of Vietnam, leaders of the National Public Security Academy of Cambodia exchanged and recommended the PPA of Vietnam for supporting of experiences and experts involved in doctoral training and degree presentation.

Being approved by the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the PPA sent experts to attend the Committee for evaluating Honorary Doctorate Degree of the National Public Security Academy of Cambodia in March, 2017. After completing the procedures, the National Public Security Academy of Cambodia invited the President of the PPA of Vietnam to attend the Ceremony for presenting Honorary Doctorate Degree held by the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia on May 2^nd, 2017 in Phnom Penh.

In this ceremony, 13 senior officials has presented the Honorary Doctorate Degree of the National Public Security Academy of Cambodia. They are the Deputy Ministers, the Director Generals and the equivalent positions of the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia who have outstanding contributions and achievements in leadership, command in the field of security and order. Mr. Sar Kheng - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, Kingdom of Cambodia attended and chaired the ceremony.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Sar Kheng - Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, Kingdom of Cambodia affirmed the significance of recognizing the outstanding contributions and achievements of individuals who received the Honorary Doctorate Degrees. He also recognized the close effective cooperation of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the PPA of Vietnam in supporting the training of human resources for the Ministry of the Interior of Cambodia. Mr. Sar Kheng affirmed that in the coming time, the two Ministries would continue to assign two Academies to strengthen and expand cooperation in training high quality human resources for the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

The delegation of the PPA visited the Embassy of Vietnam in Cambodia

Within the assignment in Cambodia, the President and the delegation of the PPA had the meeting with leaders of the National Public Security Academy of Cambodia and the 4th branch of the Academy located in Siem Reap province. The two sides unanimously proposed the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam to continue allowing the two Academies to strengthen and expand the cooperation in training. The delegation of the PPA also visited the Embassy of Vietnam in Cambodia and met Mr. Thach Du, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
