With the approval of the Ministry of Public Security and the support of the Regional English Language Office at the US Embassy in Hanoi, on September 11th, 2017, the PPA organized the opening ceremony of an ESP training course for 30 officers of Hanoi Traffic Police.
Attending the ceremony were Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Chat, Vice President of the PPA; Mrs. Jennifer Kagawa - English language expert, trainer of the course; representative of Traffic Police Division of Hanoi; representatives from functional units of the PPA and 30 trainees of the training course.
This training course is part of the Project “Strengthening of English language capacity for the Vietnamese Police force” which has been performed since 2015. This project has been bringing practical effect to the traffic police in performing the task of ensuring traffic order and safety in the integration period. Throughout the project, many ESP training courses for local traffic police such as Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang, Khanh Hoa, etc. were organized and received positive feedback from leaders, soldiers of the local police.
Following this success, this training course has been well prepared from the survey, practical assessment and material compilation. The training materials were edited by experts and experienced trainers in accordance with the actual work of the officers of traffic police in Hanoi.

Mrs. Jennifer Kagawa - English language experts believes in the success of the training course
The training will take place from September 11th to September 29th , 2017. Under the guidance of Mrs. Jennifer Kagawa - English language expert and the other qualified lecturers from the Department of Foreign Languages of the PPA, 30 participants will enrich the vocabulary in ESP, develop the listening and speaking skills on topics directly relating to the daily work of the Traffic Police officers such as traffic direction, guiding the procedures for registration of means of transport for foreigners, handling of violations, traffic accidents involving foreigners, etc.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Chat, Vice President of the Academy highly appreciated the efforts of the Regional English Language Office at the US Embassy in Hanoi during the implementation of the project. The Vice President believed that the participation in this training course would be a good opportunity for Traffic Police officers of Hanoi to improve their English communication skills to meet the requirements of work, so that the international friends recognize Hanoi as the title “City for Peace”.
