The project “Establishment of E-Library at People’s Police Academy” sponsored by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) had kicked off since January, 2015 on the basis of the approval of Government of South Korea, the Government of Vietnam and the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam. After 2 years of implementation, the E-Library of the PPA had officially opened in December, 2016 according to the agreement between the two Agencies. Within the framework of the project, the Center for Archives and Library of the PPA coordinated with the PMC to implement activities to ensure the progress of the project.

The PMC of the project “Establishment of E-Library at People’s Police Academy” consisted of the experienced Korean experts in the field of project management and administration, information technology, library, interior design, etc. During the implementation of the project, the experts group actively supported the PPA for a variety of activities such as: consultancy of building floor ad interior design; arrangement of reading rooms and book storages; organization of training courses in South Korea and Vietnam for the officers of the PPA; cooperation with some Vietnamese companies to design the Library software, etc.

On behalf of the PMC, Mr. Choi Seon Mook affirmed the success of the project “Establishment of E-Library at People’s Police Academy”. In order that the project could be used effectively in the coming time, he expected that the PPA to pay attention to the arrangement of human resource for e-library operation in a suitable way. The PPA should train and foster the abilities for the officers who directly run the project.

Speaking at the meeting, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA thanked the PMC for their closely cooperation. The enthusiastic support and consultancy of the PMC contributed to the success of the project. The opening of the E-Library indicated the leading position of the PPA’s library among the police training institutions currently. This project contributed to the process of building the PPA to become the national standard university. On this occasion, the Vice President of the PPA hoped that the PMC and KOICA Office in Vietnam would continue to cooperate, assist the PPA to implement the next phase of the E-Library Project in the near future.

To enhance the efficiency of the E-Library in education - training of the PPA, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang suggested the Center for Archives and Library to research, propose the activities to attract the research and study of the readers at the library. The officers of the library must be prove the knowledge, experience that had accumulated through the project and improve the professional ability to meet the increasingly high requirement of the readers.
