On April 25th, 2017, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA had a meeting with the delegation of United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) led by Mrs. Noriko - Specialist on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, Regional Office for Southeast Asia and the Pacific.
In recent years, the PPA has cooperated with UNODC Office in Vietnam to implement effectively many cooperative activities. Many experts of the PPA have participated in projects on research and teaching held by UNODC in Vietnam.
In 2013, the PPA and UNODC Office in Vietnam jointly organized a scientific workshop on the relationship between law enforcement agencies and civil society organizations in harm reduction of HIV and HIV prevention. In 2015, 2016, the two Agencies coordinated the compilation of materials and organized 02 training courses on “Role of Law Enforcement in HIV Prevention and Treatment for Drug Users” in Hai Phong and Quang Ninh provinces. Currently, UNODC and the PPA are collaborating to edit the kit of materials and organize a training course on “Investigating Child Sexual Exploitation for Police Investigators”.
At the meeting, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Vice President of the PPA has sincerely thanked UNODC Office in Vietnam for their support and cooperation with the PPA. At the same time, he proposed some areas of cooperation between the two Agencies in the coming time.

Accordingly, the Vice President hoped that the two Agencies would consider and organize a scientific conference on the topic of “Prevention of Child Sexual Abuse in the context of the establishment of ASEAN Community” with the participation of international experts, experts from UNODC, the People’s Public Security force of Vietnam and socio-political organizations. The purposes of the conference are to assess the situation of child sexual abuse in Vietnam in recent years, the role of the People’s Public Security force and socio-political organizations in the prevention and combating of child sexual abuse. At the same time, UNODC Office in Vietnam would assign the experts to do the reality reports for the PPA’s students according to the topics proposed by the PPA.
On behalf of the delegation of UNODC, Mrs. Noriko expressed her admiration for the great development of the PPA. In her capacity, Mrs. Noriko promised to strive to promote and establish the cooperative activities between UNODC and the PPA in the near future.
