PPA works with SOCA on training to combat money laundering and financial related crime

At the meeting, on the basis of researching training materials system on the prevention of money laundering related crime in particular and financial crimes in general, the PPA and the SOCA discussed the advantages and difficulties in the professional training issues on fighting against money laundering related crime of the PPA. Due to the nature of new emerged, the authorities are less practical experience, so the PPA would like that the SOCA would coordinate and support for improving and upgrading training materials system on anti- money laundering and financial related crimes.

 

Mr. Bernie Crossey said that currently the SOCA is actively coordinating with relevant departments of the United Kingdom to review and research documents relating to the content of training on the prevention of money laundering and financial related crimes. In addition, he pointed out a draft of contents of set of training materials on anti- money laundering and financial related crimes to discuss with the Academy such as:

- Work of coordinating and exchanging information with financial agencies and banks .

- Work of constructing documents, collecting information for financial investigations .

-  International cooperation in investigating financial related crimes .

 

At the meeting, Mr. Bernie Crossey also introduced to the PPA about activities of training on anti-money laundering and financial related crime in the United Kingdom as well as the cooperation between police forces with banks, customs and relevant forces in fighting and preventing crime. On the basis of sharing information about the both sides, Mr. Bernie Crossey appreciated contributions of the both sides in building programs and contents for the set of training material on prevention of money laundering and financial related crimes. He said that he would continue to research the relevant documents and the system of Vietnamese law to compile soon a set of most suitable and fullest material for the training and studying activities of the PPA’s lecturers and students.

 

On behalf of the PPA’s Directorate, Major General, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the Academy expressed his thank to the SOCA in general and to Mr. Bernie Crossey in particular for such positive contributions in the process of cooperation with the PPA and wished that Mr. Bernie Crossey would continue to support the Academy to soon finish this set of training material as soon as possible to serve for the training and studying activities of the PPA.
