The ceremony was attended by Vice President Nguyen Thi Doan and Chairman of State Council for Professor Title (SCPT) cum Minister of Education and Training Pham Vu Luan and the leadership representatives of many ministries and agencies.

Congratulating the recipients, Minister Pham Vu Luan praised 644 teachers nationwide were granted with Professor and Associate Professor Titles at the ceremony. He said that the professors and associate professors played a key role in educating, nurturing and developing intellectuals for the country while encouraging younger generations to study, further their ingenuity and devote themselves to scientific research. He hoped that new professors and associate professors would contribute to the development of education and training in particular and the socio-economic development in general.

In 2014, 59 educators were granted the title of Professor, while 585 others received the title of Associate Professor. This year’s requirements for recognition were set higher to meet current demands and comply with international standards.

Among the new professors, 37-year-old lecturer Phan Thanh Son Nam from the Vietnam National University - Ho Chi Minh City is the youngest, while the eldest educator to receive the title of professor this year is 81-year-old Le Ngoc Canh, a former lecturer from the National University of Art Education. Nam and Canh are also the youngest and eldest persons to receive the title over the past 38 years.

In this year, the Public Security Force has added 4 Professor and 22 Associate Professors, in which 4 Professor were Major General Bui Trung Thanh, Vice President of People's Security Academy; Major General Ngo Sy Hien, Director of Criminal Science Institute; Colonel Duong Minh Gioi, Head of the Post-Graduate and Advanced Training Faculty of the PPA; Colonel Nguyen Huu Duyen, Rector of Prison Police College.

22 other scientists who were recognized the Associate Professors Titles are working at the Public Security academy, universities, colleges and Public Security Agencies of localities, in which scientist Tran Van Sau, Deputy Director of Hospital 198 was recognized the Associate Professor of Medicine.

The PPA has added one new Professor is Colonel Duong Minh Gioi and 4 new Associate Professor are Colonel Nguyen Hoang Minh, Head of Environmental Crime Investigation Faculty; Colonel Tran Nguyen Quan, Head of the Criminal Investigation Faculty; Senior-Lieutenant Colonel Tran Canh Hung, Head of Anti-High-tech crime Investigation Faculty; Lieutenant Colonel Duong Van Minh, Deputy Head of Crime Scene Faculty.

On February 10^th, the new Professors and Associate Professors of Security Science will be honored at the Temple of Literature of the PPA.
