Closing ceremony of Workshop “Strategies for building English materials for specialty of Traffic Police at all level”

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Tomas Mandl, Political Attaché, Embassy of United States in Vietnam; Mr. Le Duong, Representative of  RELO in Hanoi; Mrs. Jennifer Lani Kagawa, Expert in English Language. On the side of the PPA were Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the Academy; Representatives of the Foreign Languages Department, International Cooperation Division and 20 trainees.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs. Jennifer Lani Kagawa expressed the sincere thanks to the PPA for the support to the successful organization of the Workshop. Besides, she also appreciated the enthusiastic and active participation of the representatives. Mrs. Jennifer Lani Kagawa hoped to continue to coordinate with the PPA in the coming time in organizing the other international events, including the Workshop on ESP teaching methods for ASEAN countries which was expected to be held in this August. Finally, with the achieved results, she would cooperate with lecturers of the Foreign Languages ​​ Department of the PPA in completing the materials for the Traffic Police force to apply in the nearest time.

In reply to the opinion of Mrs. Jennifer, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang also thanked to the Embassy of the Unites States in Vietnam and the RELO Office for the positive cooperation in recent years, especially the success of stage 1 of the project “Strengthening of English language capacity for Vietnam police force”. He stressed, English language played increasingly important role in international integration, especially as the establishment of ASEAN Community was coming. Therefore, the project “Strengthening of English language capacity for Vietnam police force” in general and this Workshop in particular had the great significance, as the prerequisite for the development of English language ability for the Public Security force as well as the work of teaching English at the PPA. Finally, the Vice President of the PPA thanked the US Embassy in Vietnam, RELO Office in Hanoi and the English language experts for their enthusiastic support to the PPA, he also asked the lecturers of the Foreign Languages Department who participated in the Workshop to quickly apply what they learned into their work, contribute to improving the teaching effectiveness in the PPA.
