Conference to study chapter IV "National Defense" in amended Constitution 2013
Lieutenant General Tran Dinh Nha, Vice Chairman of the Committee of Security and Defence of the National Assembly reported at the Conference

At the Conference, Lieutenant General Tran Dinh Nha, Vice Chairman of the Committee of Security and Defense of the National Assembly provided an overview of the contents of Chapter IV "National Defence" in the amended Constitution 2013 and the new regulations in this Chapter. He emphasized that the Constitution 2013 continued to express consistently national defence policies and guidelines of the Party and affirmed that Vietnam was a friend, a reliable partner and a responsible member of the international community. The Constitution 2013 regulated clearly the National defence is the sacred duty and noble right of the citizen; every citizen should make equality in National defense obligations, in which joining in military service was consider as a central obligation.

 

He added the Constitution 2013 continued to institutionalize fully the responsibility of the people’s armed forces and confirmed that it was essential to promote the development of defence and security industry, enhance researching the military art and science with the purpose of being availability to defeat all kind of war, maintaining peace and political stability, create a favorable environment to strengthen industrialization and modernization of the nation.

 

Summarizing the Conference, Mr. Tran Dinh Nha emphasized that the Constitution 2013 marked an important milestone in the process of building and defending the Nation. Thus, in their capacity as the soldiers of the People's Armed Forces, the PPA‘s officers, lecturers, employees and students should continue to raise awareness and responsibility in the implementation of the Constitution as well as the obligation of Nation Protection which was defined in the Constitution of 2013 in accordance with the functions and tasks confided by the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security.
