Accompanying with the President were Mr. Dao Viet Trung, the Head of the President Office; Senior Lieutenant General Dang Van Hieu, Permanent Deputy Minister of Public Security; and Leadership Representatives of the functional agencies within the Ministry of Public Security.

On behalf of leader of the Party and State, President Truong Tan Sang sent his regard and congratulation on the New Year to all officers, lecturers, employees and students of the PPA with health, successes in learning and training. He also warmly praised and congratulated the achievements of the PPA during 47 years of building and developing the Academy to become the leading Center for training and scientific research of the People's Police Force of Vietnam.

He asked the Academy to uphold its heroic tradition, develop its training, and carry out more scientific research. He also stressed that to contribute further to fulfilling the tasks that the Party, State and people entrusted for the Public Security forces, with the function as a leading center for police training, the PPA should implement well some of the following issues:

- Grasping and effectively undertaking the training tasks aligned with the implementation of political tasks of the police sector as well as the requirements of building the Public Security Force gradually regular, revolutionary and modern;

- Renewing its training content, programme and methods in accordance with the Party's Resolution No.29-NQ/TW on comprehensive renovation of education and training;

- Incorporating between teaching, learning and scientific research. Actively reviewing the practice of crime prevention and the ensuring the political security, social order and safety and sovereignty of the country; researching and using selectively the experience and knowledge of the countries in the world in the fight against crime and the State management of security and order in the context of globalization and the strong development of science and technology;

- Through the scientific research activities to foster the high-quality lecturers; training for students the ability of dependent thinking, creativity to contribute to improving the quality and effectiveness of public security forces in general;

- As for the task of force building, the President proposed the PPA to grasp thoroughly and implement effectively Uncle Ho's six teachings, the Central Party Resolution 4 (tenure XI) on Party building and the campaign “Study and follow the moral example of Ho Chi Minh”…

Reporting to the President, Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the Academy emphasized that over the past 47 years, generations of staff and teachers have exerted themselves to develop the Academy to become one of the leading training and science research Centres of the Public Security force, make more contributions to the cause of education, training as well as protecting the national security and social order and safety. So far, the Academy has trained more than 50,000 police officers in 13 majors and trained thousands of police officers for Laos, Cambodia, Korea, and Palestine. The PPA has also trained 23 Masters courses and 19  Doctor courses with 1800 Masters, nearly 300 PhD, in fostering over 7000 leaders, commanders, contributing to supplement the important human resources for the Public Security Force, People's Armed Forces and the branches.

The graduated students were promoted well trained knowledge, have contributed greatly to the protection of national security and the preservation of social order and safety. Recording the achievements of training and retraining the officers for the Public Security forces, the Party and State presented the Order of Ho Chi Minh, the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces and many other honors for the PPA.

On behalf of the officers, lecturers, employees and students of the PPA,  Lieutenant General Nguyen Xuan Yem promised to acquire deeply and grasp thoroughly the direction of President Truong Tan Sang, continuing to make relentless efforts, overcome difficulties, building the Academy more developing, contribute further to the achievement of education and training and the cause of protecting the national security and order, always being worthy of the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces and the trust of the Party, State and Public Security.
