New contributions of the thesis:

1. The thesis is the first systematical research on the international cooperation in the prevention and combat of smuggling by customs force; clarifying the concepts of smuggling, anti-smuggling and international cooperation in prevention and combat of smuggling according to the functions of the customs; characteristics, legal basis, content, form and principles of international cooperation in the prevention and fight against smuggling by customs force.

2. The thesis clearly states the actual situation of international cooperation in the prevention and fight against smuggling by customs force from 2010 to 2020; provide the view on the strengths, limitations, and shortcomings as well as points out both subjective and objective causes of those limitations and shortcomings during the implementation of the contents in this activity.

3. Based on the theoretical foundation and the results of analysis and assessment of the current situation, the thesis has proposed practical solutions in international cooperation on prevention and fighting against smuggling by customs force which can contribute to improve theory and practical guidance on international cooperation in the prevention and fight against smuggling for the customs.
