Attending the Meeting were Major General, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Vice President of the PPA; Major Nguyen Thi Viet Ha - Member of the Standing Committee of WU of the General Political Department - Ministry of Public Security; Dr. Doan Huong; Lecturer in Journalism of University of Social Sciences and Humanities; the members of the Party Committee, the Directorate and leaders of the units, mass organizations and over 500 members of PPA’s WU.

Senior Lieutenant Colonel Dang Thi Thanh, Chairwoman of the WU of the PPA

 made the opening speech at the Meeting

At the Meeting, Senior Lieutenant Colonel, Dr. Dang Thi Thanh, Chairwoman of the WU of the PPA made the speech to review the history of International Women’s Day, summed up the accomplished tasks of the WU of the PPA that achieved in 2014 and launched the activity program for the year 2015. Members of the WU discussed passionately to respond and to determine on fulfilling successfully the tasks in 2015. Captain, Dr. Tran Thi Thu Nga - members of WU Branch of Education No. 3 listed the drawbacks as well the solutions to overcome difficulties in career. On behalf of the WU branches of students, Nguyen Thi Anh Nguyet demonstrated the ways to practice the 4 essential qualities “Confidence - Self-respect - Faith - Responsibility” that contributed to the strong development of the WU.

Representative of the mass organizations congratulated the WU of the PPA

Representing the Party Committee, Directorate of the PPA, Major General, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Vice President of the PPA congratulated and encouraged members of the WU of the PPA. Speaking at the Meeting, he appreciated the achievements that the WU of the PPA had gained in the previous year and pointed out some of the main targets that the WU need to accomplish in 2015 as follows:

First, considering the political and ideological education, law education for the women in the PPA to spread out the example of morality and behavior, moreover, join high-responsibly in building, reorganizing the Party as well as in the Public Security force.

Second, following closely to the political task of the Force and the PPA to orient and organize activities which are more realistic and meaningful to carry out successfully the political tasks of the PPA.

Third, upholding the traditional values of Vietnamese women to keep the happy home. Under present circumstance, the women need to give extra care for family, sex education, children care and education, mother and wife’s vocation. The movements should support the women in marriage and family policy, women and children protection, fostering the soft skill and knowledge, traditional customs preservation, etc.  

Forth, changing the contents, format of actions in accordance with the professional activities. The WU must be truly care and protect women’s rights, make changes in the result, the quality of the movement and the position of women in the society.

Fifth, leaders of all units must actually direct the WU’s activity, for instance, forming the resource of female leader to ensure the career opportunity for women; making plan on training and fostering the female officers and disposing them base on the target of gender equality; assigning the tasks and believing in women’s competence; providing the advantages for women to accomplish the political tasks, develop themselves and look after their home.

At the Meeting, Major General, Dr. Dang Xuan Khang also expressed his faith in the dramatic development of the WU to contribute to fulfill the political tasks of the PPA. In addition, he expressed his immense gratitude to the WU of the Ministry of Public Security and the WU of the General Political Department for creating the advantages for the WU of the PPA in many years.

At the end of the Meeting, there was a brief and exciting exchange between Dr. Doan Huong - Lecturer in Journalism of University of Social Sciences and Humanities and the members of WU of the PPA. The stories about Vietnamese women’s morality in the age of industrialization and modernization left the deep impression to the female officers, staffs and students of the PPA.
