On August 28th, 2017, the PPA held the opening ceremony of training course on military swimming and rescue in 2017 for officers and students of police training institutions.
Attending the opening ceremony were Senior Colonel, Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Huong, Vice President of the PPA; representatives of functional units and trainees of the course.
The training course is designed to equip the trainees with the most basic knowledge about military swimming, skills in handling rescue situations to apply to the practical work. In addition, the training course also improves the rescuing skills of Public Security force to help the victims of natural disasters, floods, etc.
The class is scheduled to be held within one month, with two main contents: Military swimming (secret swimming, swimming with package, swimming with gun) and rescue swimming (front crawl, backstroke, applying swimming and swimming for rescuing drowning victims).

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Colonel, Prof. Dr. Tran Minh Huong, Vice President of the PPA required that the Center for Training and Professional Practice and other functional units in the Academy create favorable conditions for the training course, ensure the safety during the practice. At the same time, he asked the trainees to master the skills of swimming and handling situations, proficiently use the rescue tools and equipment to rescue victims.
