PPA Promotes Cooperation with French Counterparts

At the meeting, Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem informed Mr. Olivier Lefebvre recent cooperation activities between the PPA and French counterparts. He highlighted some achievements such as the dispatch of French teacher to PPA supported by the French Embassy; the PPA’s officers and lecturers participating in the training and fostering courses in the French Republic; the Embassy’s support for PPA’s lecturers to attend French class in Hanoi, workshops and seminars jointly hosted by the two sides at the PPA; especially, the PPA’s delegation had the fruitful visit to the National Institute for Advanced Security and Justice Studies of France in March, 2018.

Following the success of the visit, at the meeting, through the Security Attaché, the President of the PPA proposed a new cooperation initiative with the National Institute for Advanced Security and Justice Studies in the coming time. In this initiative, Mr. Yem proposes the two sides jointly publish a Journal namely Asia Security and Justice Science. The Journal would be printed in both Vietnamese and French languages with articles about security issues in France, Vietnam and other Asian countries. The Editorial Board would be the Vietnamese and French scientists nominated by the two sides.

The President of the PPA believed that this cooperation project would be a great opportunity for scientists from both sides to cooperate in studying, exchanging, sharing academic knowledge and experience on related issues; spread achievements of the two countries as well as the forces of law enforcement in two countries.

On behalf of the Embassy of France, Mr. Olivier Lefebvre highly appreciated the cooperation between the PPA and the French Embassy in recent time. He thanked PPA for the invitations to participate in workshops and seminars organized by PPA so far. In his capacity as the Security Attaché, he would willing to support and assist the PPA in promoting cooperative relations with French partners such as: cooperating with the French National Police University in online police training program; sending volunteers to teach French language at the PPA in the appropriate curriculum. Mr. Olivier Lefebvre also pledged to support the idea of collaborative publication between the PPA and the National Institute for Advanced Security and Justice Studies.
