2014 is an important transitional year
to celebrate 70th traditional anniversary of the Public Security force of
Vietnam. Joining in the emulative atmosphere of the Public Security force, the
officers, lecturers and students of the People's Police Academy (PPA) have always
striven successfully completing the assigned tasks, gained many achievements in
the education - training and scientific research. Let's take a look at the remarkable
events of the PPA in 2014.

In 2014, the PPA had the honor of receiving and working with many leaders of
the Party and State. Especially, on October 13th, 2014, H.E. Nguyen Sinh Hung - Member of the
Political Bureau, Chairman of the National Assembly of the Socialist Republic
of Vietnam attended the Opening Ceremony of the school year 2014 – 2015 of the
PPAm. H.E. Nguyen Xuan Phuc - Member
of the Politburo, Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam
visited and congratulated officers, lecturers of the Academy on the occasions of
celebrating Vietnamese Teacher's Day (November 20th).

Training of the human resource: In 2014, the PPA has the honored to be awarded
by the State honorable Council 01 more Professors, 05 Associate Professors, 22 Doctors,
32 Masters, 01 main lecturer, 01 senior coach, 21 lecturers and 55 assistant
lecturers. Currently, among the police training institutions, the Academy is
the leading one of high-qualified officers and lecturers. So far, the PPA has
got 6 Professors, 27 Associate Professors, 130 Doctors, more than 300 Masters,
146 Main Lecturers, 155 Lecturers; 28 comrades was honorably awarded the title
of Teacher Excellence and People's Teacher.

On the roadmap to become the significant training institution, on December 23rd,
2014, the PPA held the ceremony to present the Decision on establishment of the
Division of Finance and the Decision of changing the function of Law Training Faculty
into the Department of Law Training of the PPA. The event of changing the function
of Law Training Faculty marked the first time the Academy to train the Law
specialty for students of civil system.

On September 11th, 2014, the PPA Preliminary Conference for 5-year
implementation of outcome standards at the Academy. The PPA is the first police
training institution of the Public Security force to implement the outcome
standards for all courses. From the school year 2009-2010 up to now, the rate of
getting the political standard is 99%, the professional standard is 100%, the
standard of soft skills such as computing, foreign language, shooting, martial
arts and driving is 100%.

Scientific research: The PPA was awarded the Certificate of Merit by the Prime
Minister for the achievements in 30 years of scientific research. The
scientific subjects, improvement initiatives have continued to be implemented
effectively. There were 25 scientific research works of students awarded by
Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Public Security
(including 01 first prize of young creator contest of Ministry of Education and
Training). The Academy published the important sets of book such as:
Criminology Vietnam, Science of Reconnaissance Vietnam; book on situation of order,
traffic safety in 05 central cities and has compiled the set of book “Police Science
Vietnam” (the scientific work to celebrate the 70th traditional day of Vietnam Public
Security force).

On October 09th, 2014, the PPA has held 16th PPA’s Ho Chi
Minh Communist Youth Union Congress term 2014-2017. The Congress reviewed and
evaluated objectively and comprehensively the gained achievements and pointed
out the limitations, the experienced lessons in the mission and movement of
Youth Union for the term 2012 - 2014. On that basis, the Congress proposed the
directions and action programs for the Youth Union of the Academy in the term
from 2014 to 2017 in order to meet the requirements of building and development
of the PPA in the new situation.

In 2014, the cooperation of the PPA continued to be strengthened and expanded.
The Academy held the Signing ceremony of the Memorandum of cooperation with the
People’s Security Academy, the Institute of Criminal Science and the High
Command of Coast Guard Vietnam. This is the basis to strengthen the regular and
extensive deployment of the cooperative relationship between the Academy and
the aforementioned units in the coming time in order to improve the efficiency
of the working fields of each Agencies, especially in education - training and
scientific research.

The year 2014 also marked the breakthrough in scientific information of the PPA.
With the Launching the e-publishing of People's Police Magazine, People's
Police Magazine in English and Traffic Safety, the PPA is the unit s which has
the most scientific Publications with 5 publications and is the first agency in
the Ministry of Public Security to public the Magazine in English.

The entrance exam of regular system of the PPA in 2014 marked the record in the
number of registered candidates with more than 30,000 applicants participated
in whereas the enrollment target of the Academy is 1000 students. The Academy
has mobilized more than 2,400 officers for the invigilation at 41 places. The
exam took place safely, abided by the proper regulations of the Ministry of
Education and Training. The PPA has the highest entrance score nationwide.

The PPA continues to strengthen the international cooperation in education,
training and scientific research. On February 21st, 2014, The PPA
held the signing Ceremony of Record of Discussion on the Project for
establishment of e-Library at the PPA with the KOICA (Korea). This big Project
will contribute to improve the infrastructure quality for education and
training of the PPA with the support of expense and technology by KOICA. When
being completed, the Project will contribute to enhance the effectiveness of
not only management and searching materials of the Police Professional Library,
but also exploit the materials of readers. During the year, the Academy received
and worked with over 20 international delegations and organized to work or
study abroad for over 20 delegations of officers, lecturers and students of the
PPA.

The year 2014 completed and the new year
2015 is coming, the officers, lecturers and students of the PPA will always
strive hard for the Cause of education - training and protection of national
security and order social and safety, deserve to be the significant training
