The Workshop was held under the co-chairmanship of Major General, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Ly, Director of the Department of anti-environmental crime and Senior Colonel, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thien Phu, Vice President of the PPA. Attending the Workshop were also Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Pham Quang Cu, Deputy General Director of General Department of Logistics and Engineering; representatives of Departments of Ministry of Public Security and some Universities. As for the PPA were the leaders of units and the lecturers, students of specialty of police for anti-environmental crime.

At present, the implementation of measures against environmental crime of Public Security force is slow and inconsistent. So, it is necessary for the Public Security force to study comprehensively about the reality of preventing and combating the environmental crime in the field of basic construction. To address these difficulties, the Workshop had been cared by many government agencies, organizations, individuals, scientists, managers, especially the leaders of Political General Department and the functional units of the Ministry of Public Security.

Overview of the Workshop

The Workshop received more than 40 presentations by the experienced scientists, managers and leaders to analyze, assess and provide the solutions to enhance the efficiency of environmental management and protection in the field of basic construction. With that spirit, the Workshop clarified some of the following issues: direction for administrative management in activities of environmental protection in the field of basic construction; situation of violating the environmental law in the field of basic construction; prevention of violations of environmental law in the field of basic construction; coordinative relationship between the forces in the fight against environmental crime in the field of basic construction. From that, the representatives proposed the solutions to solve to improve the efficiency of preventing the environmental crime in the basic construction in the coming time.

Speaking at the Workshop, Major General, Assoc.Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Ly summarized the opinions of the representatives, the valuable scientific foundations and proposals to the Government and the authorities. He hoped that in the coming time, the government agencies, organizations, individuals, scientists, managers, Public Security force of cities along with the Department of anti-environmental crime and the PPA would have the more closely cooperation in environmental protection and prevention of environmental crime.
