Dear Pol. Lt. Gen. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the People's Police Academy, On behalf of the EU-ASEAN Migration and Border Management Programme II, I would like to express my sincere gratitude for all your help and assistance in making the Integrated Border Management Operational Training, held from the 7-12 December 2015 at the People's Police Academy, a success. This six-day event, funded by the European Union and implemented by INTERPOL, brought together a total of 22 law enforcement and immigration officials from 9 ASEAN Member States, to receive operational training on enhanced Border Management techniques. The training session included modules on INTERPOL's Policing Capabilities, Counterfeit Document Analysis, Migrant Smuggling vs. Human Trafficking and Operational Exercises. In particular I would like to mention the excellent support we received from the International Cooperation Division, who accommodated all of our requests in a highly professional manner. Their local knowledge, willingness to help and experience helped to contribute to the successful completion of the training event itself, and for that we are extremely grateful for their support. I recognize the immense emphasis that both the People's Police Academy, in conjunction with the Foreign Relations Department - Ministry of Public Security, placed upon this event. It was truly humbling to see such high level representatives from the People's Police Academy investing so much personal time and effort. This event shows what can be accomplished through true cooperation, and I can confirm that this programme will endeavour to build upon this cooperation in the future. It was a pleasure and an honour to use your facilities at the People's Police Academy and I look forward to our continuing partnership in the future. Programme funded by the European Union Thank you very much for your contribution in the interests of International Police Cooperation. Yours sincerely, Rastislav SASIK Programme Manager The EU-ASEAN Migration and Border Management Progamme II |
