New contrubutions of the thesis:

1. The thesis explores the theoretical background on investigating child sexual abuse in Vietnam. Accordingly, it contributes to the contemporary knowledge on the criminal police to investigate child sexual abuse including: definition, characteristics, investigative techniques and the coopertation between anti-criminal police and the other law enforcement angencies.

2. This thesis assesses the current situations of child sexual abuse in Vietnam; and the efficiency of the anti-criminal police in investigating this type of offence; evaluating the advantages and shortcomings of the operation; and the aetiology of the situation.

3. It predicts the factors that might influence the trends and situations of child sexual abuse in Vietnam in the next few years and also the advantages and disadvantages of the current operation of the anti-criminal police. The thesis thus recommends solutions for enhancing the efficiency of the anti-criminal police in investigating child sexual abuse.
