The second CHINA - ASEAN police academic forum was held by the Ministry of Public Security of China and Police Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. This forum is held every 2 years at Nam Ninh city - Metropolis of Guangxi - China.

Theme of the 2016 forum is: “Cooperation between Police from countries for the economic development of the region”. During 2 days, the representatives focused on some main subjects:

- The views, the new model of cooperation of police in the context of regional economic development

 - The situation and measures to deal with non-traditional security and counter-terrorism in the region.

- Prospects for security cooperation in construction projects and international investors.

- Construction of a new mechanism to ensure safe and convenient for cross-border citizens

- The situation and measures to respond to cross-border crimes such as network security, telecommunications fraud...

- Mechanisms to share police scientific findings and police knowledge treasure

In the course of attending the Forum, the Vietnamese delegation exchanged experiences with experts from China, Malaysia, Singapore, Laos, Cambodia, etc about the models and co-operation between Vietnam and other countries, including China on the crime prevention. Vietnam and China signed 03 agreements, bilateral agreements in the field of crime prevention, such as the Agreement on Criminal Mutual Legal Assistance; agreement on prevention of transnational crime including human trafficking, arms trafficking, drug trafficking, smuggling, etc.

The participating countries also presented the models and practical cooperation with countries in the fields of exchange information on criminals; extradition, transfer of sentenced persons; exchange of police liaison officers, experts, etc.

 In addition to the official agenda, the delegates visited the administrative Centre of Transport Department of  Nam Ninh city - Guangxi. This is the typical pattern of traffic Command Center of the  Ministry of Public Security of China.

The CHINA - ASEAN police academic forum is a good chance for Asean countries exchange experiences, difficulties, challenges and successes in combating and preventing crime. The International Cooperation Department - Ministry of Public Security of China will continue to organize the 3^rd Forum in Guangxi - China in 2018.
