With the consent of the leadership
of the MPS, on March 8th, 2016, the PPA in collaboration with the UN Children's
Fund (UNICEF) held the training course on investigation of computer facilitated
crimes against children.
Attending and directing the opening
ceremony were Major General, Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Nhat, Vice President of the
PPA, Director of Institute of Police Sciences. As for the UNICEF had Mrs.
Nguyen Thanh Truc, Expert on Child Protection; Robert Leazenby and Mike Duffey,
lecturers of the training course. There was also the presence of
representatives of the functional department of the PPA and trainees of the
course.
In recent years, along with the
success in the protection of children in general, there has been more and more
increasing attention on prevention, intervention, helping abused children and children
at high risk of being abused. However, abuse, violence, exploitation against
children have been more complicated and serious, which causes angry and
depressed for the victims and society community. Besides, the process of
investigation of anti-children related cases faces difficulties, which have led
to the limitation in detecting, investigating and solving this kind of crime.

Under the above-mentioned situation,
this training course has been organized to equip and strengthen the knowledge,
experiences and skills in detecting and preventing the computer facilitated
crimes against children for PPA teachers; simultaneously, aims to train the sources
of the qualified teaching-officers for other training courses on investigation
of computer facilitated crimes against children in the near future.
Speaking at the ceremony, Major
General, Prof.Dr Nguyen Van Nhat, Vice President of the PPA, Director of
Institute of Police Sciences required the trainees to make efforts to obey the
learning schedule, take advantage of time to share practical experiences with
the experts, actively exchange theoretical issues and practices to contribute
to enhance the Cause of education and training of the PPA. He also hoped that
the cooperation relationship between the PPA and the UNICEF more stronger and
developing, more new projects would be implemented in the next period.
The training course will take place
from 7th-11th, March, 2016.
