PPA and Royal Thai Police Academy promoting training cooperation in context of international integration

Since the establishment of official relation in 2008, the Vietnamese PPA and the RTPA have carried out many cooperative activities and obtained positive results, contributing to improving quality of education and training for Public Security force, enhancing knowledge and experience for officers, lecturers and students of the two training institutions. Especially, in 2016, the two training institutions exchanged 09 delegations to work, attend short-term training courses and scientific conferences.

Following success of cooperative activities between the Vietnamese PPA and the RTPA, in 2017, the two training institutions continue to organize exchange activities. The first exchange activity is the training course on crime prevention in the context of international integration for officers and students of the RTPA at the Vietnamese PPA.


Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training course, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA welcomed 20 officers and students from the RTPA to attend the training course at the PPA. In the context of international integration and the establishment of the ASEAN Community, besides the advantages for socio-economic development, the regional countries have to face many challenges in protection of national security, assurance of social order and the rise of many crimes such as drug crimes, human-trafficking crimes, high-tech crimes, etc.


Therefore, the Vice President of the PPA emphasized that the cooperation among the law enforcement forces, including the Vietnamese People's Police and the Royal Thai Police were the urgent requirement. The collaborative activities in police field should focus not only on crime prevention, but also on human resource training for police forces to meet the requirements on crime prevention in each country.

 

For this reason, Major General Dang Xuan Khang affirmed the important role of training courses between the Vietnamese PPA and the RTPA. The training courses aim to share experiences in crime prevention as well as contribute to building friendly cooperation relation between the two States in general and the two training institutions in particular. In addition, through the participation in training courses at the PPA, the officers and students of the RTPA also have opportunity to learn about the country, people and culture of Vietnam.

At the ceremony, representatives of RTPA thanked the leaders of the Vietnamese PPA for facilitating the organization of the training course. The RTPA also emphasized the importance of cooperation in education and training between the two training institutions in the context of international integration today.

 

The training course on crime prevention in the context of international integration will be held from March 20th to 31st, 2017 at the PPA. Participating in the training program, the officers and students of the RTPA will study the issues: the identification of organized crimes, transnational crimes and some preventive measures in Vietnam; basic issues on the prevention and suppression of high-tech crimes; tactics to suppress public disorder, riots of the armed forces; main issues in patrol and control to prevent and fight against crimes on road traffic lines of the Vietnamese Traffic Police; examination of crime scene; criminal investigation in Vietnam, etc.

Within the framework of the training program, the officers, students of RTPA will attend the Workshop “Preventing transnational organized crime in the establishment of the ASEAN community - A theoretical perspective”; practice of shooting, driving large engine motor of Traffic Police force; participate in cultural and sports exchange activities with the Youth Union Academy and visit some provinces in Vietnam.
