Within the framework of
cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the
Australian Federal Police (AFP), from February 17th to 27th,
2017, the participants of 42nd Asia Region Law Enforcement Management Program
(ARLEMP 42) had a program of work at the PPA.
On February 17th, 2017,
the PPA held a presentation with the theme “Financial Investigation”. Attending
the presentation was Colonel Roger Brown - Chief of liaison officers of the
Australian Federal Police in Vietnam; Representatives of RMIT University in Vietnam
and the participants from more than 20 countries and territories in South Asia,
Southeast Asia and North Asia. As for the PPA were leader of the International
Cooperation Division; Department of Police for High-tech crime prevention and
students of specialty of English for Police.
At the presentation, the
participants exchanged knowledge and experience on financial investigation,
such as: awareness about money laundering, forms of money laundering,
consequences of money laundering, necessary of international cooperation in
money laundering, etc.
Also at the
working program, Lieutenant Colonel Pham Hai Binh, Deputy Head of Department of
Police for High-tech crime prevention of the PPA gave a presentation on “The
situation of financial investigation in Vietnam”. The presentation gave the participants
a better understanding of financial investigation situation in Vietnam, the
issues facing the law enforcement force and the response to this crime in the
coming time.
