In the framework of the project "Strengthening capacity of training traffic police at the PPA and other police training units in Vietnam" funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA ), a PPA delegation led by Major General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, Director of PPA attended the 4th Conference of the Asian Transportation Research Society (ATRANS) in Bangkok, Thailand between August 25th-28th, 2011. Accompanying with the delegation is experts from the JICA Office.

At the meeting, the delegation listened experts from universities and Asian leading centers for traffic safety study presented many memoirs about different topics in the field of researching traffic safety such as "General plan of transportation systems in the future"; "Towards reducing carbon emissions in transport activities"; "Developing future transport system" etc... Besides, the delegation also presented two memoirs which were high appreciated by experts at conferences.
Also, the delegation visited and worked at the Air Traffic Control Center of the Suvarnabhumi Airport, one of the largest airport in Asia and the Traffic Accident Research Centre in Thailand (TARC) under the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). Information was collected during the conference will be important data to serve for establishment of traffic accidents research center at the PPA, one of the important target of the project "Strengthening capacity of training traffic police at the PPA and other police training units in Vietnam."
