Pacific Links Foundation (PALS) is a non-governmental organization licensed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to operate in Vietnam. Since 2005, PALS has worked extensively in the fight against trafficking of women and children across borders, such as: scholarships, vocational training, community reintegration for victims; establishment of reward fund to detect human trafficking and raising awareness of human trafficking in industrial production, and organizing workshops and training courses related to women and children.

On January 19th2018, at the People's Police Academy, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang - Vice President of the Academy and Mrs. Vuong Ngoc Diep - President of PALS signed a cooperation agreement between the two parties.

At the signing ceremony, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang appreciated the proposal and the cooperation of Pacific Links Foundation. The Vice President said that in the context of the increasingly complex situation of human trafficking, the coordination of agencies and organizations is necessary to the supplementation of document resources, as well as increasing the competence of the teaching staff and students.

On behalf of the Party Committee and the Directorate of the Academy, Vice President thanked the goodwill of the Pacific Links Foundation with the Academy. The PPA will promptly assign the functional units to cooperate with experts of Pacific Links Foundation to carry out the contents of cooperation agreement.

On behalf of the Pacific Links Foundation, Mrs. Vuong Ngoc Diep - President of the Organization expressed thankfulness to the PPA and particularly Vice President for facilitating and cooperating with Pacific Links Foundation to launch the program. With efforts and achievements in the field of prevention and combating against human trafficking and victim assistance, Pacific Links Foundation will work closely with the PPA to achieve good results.

Based on the guideline approved by the Ministry of Public Security, the PPA and the PALS have agreed to implement the main co-operation activities, including coordinating the compilation of teaching materials on human trafficking prevention and victims assistance; educating for trainers (ToT) and sample trainings conducted by experts; Organizing training courses for students of the PPA and law enforcement officers in some localities using the above documents; Improving the coordination and exchange of experiences between Vietnam and the United Kingdom on the prevention and combating against human trafficking.

It is expected that the cooperation program between the PPA and the Pacific Links Foundation will be implemented from January 2018 to January 2019.
