Under the agreement of leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, on November 18th, 2010, the People’s Police Academy (PPA) in cooperation with the International Cooperation Department, the University of Flinder, Australia and the Australian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City held a seminar on “Modern criminal technique and science and their role in work of education and training, crime prevention”.

Implementing the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding between the People’s Police Academy (PPA), Vietnam and the University of Maryland, United States of America, under the consent of the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Education and Training, the PPA on March 4th, 2011 formally held the opening ceremony of the first professional Master’s Degree Program on Justice Leadership.

As a part of framework of cooperative project with the Danish Institute for Human Rights, the Switzerland Embassy in Vietnam, the UK Embassy in Vietnam on guaranteeing human rights in police work, under the consent of the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, the People’s Police Academy (PPA) in cooperation with the Lang Son Police, the Danish Institute for Human Rights, between January 18th-20th, 2011 in Lang Son Province, held a workshop on “Human rights in criminal investigation”.

As an activity of the project on strengthening Traffic Police Training at the People’s Police Academy (PPA) and other police training institutions in Vietnam, which is sponsored by the Japanese Government (JICA), with the approval of the Leading Board of the Ministry of Public Security, from 19th September to 1st October 2010, the coordinators paid a visit to Japan to study its experiences on traffic police training

According to the cooperative program between the People’s Police Academy (PPA) and the Royal Thai Police Academy as well as the agreement of the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, our delegation (including 9 members) headed by the Deputy Director of the PPA, Col. Dr. Nguyen Duc Binh visited and worked with the Royal Thai Police Academy from 12th to 15th October, 2010.

According to the Joint Communiqué of the 29th ASEAN Chiefs of Police Conference (ASEANAPOL), which took place in Hanoi from 12th to 16th May 2009, the Vietnamese Police being the Chair of ASEANAPOL-29 will host the 19th Joint ASEAN Senior Police Officers Course (JASPOC-19). Subsequently, under the agreement of Minister of Public Security Ministry of Vietnam, JASPOC 19 was held in the People’s Police Academy from 15th to 29th March 2010 with the cooperation of the Interpol Vietnam.
