The Standing Board of the Central Public Security Party Committee organized a conference on November 28 to review the task performance of the Public Security in 2018 and announce plans for 2019.
The conference also aimed to appraise the implementation of the Resolution 18 of the 6th Meeting of the Party Central Committee (12th term) and the Politburo's Resolution 22. At the meeting, delegates also discussed the framework of standards and criteria for public security officers at four levels as well as plans for strategic-level officers in the Public Security Force (PSF).
The conference was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Politburo member, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee, and attended by Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.
Party General Secretary, President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc recognized and spoke highly of the efforts of the PSF in maintaining security and order of the country.
According to official reports, public security units at all levels actively grasped, analyzed the situation as well as made exact predictions on coming situational scenarios and gave sound advise to the Party and State on drafting political, economic, diplomatic policies while ensuring security and safety for important targets and political events of the country.

The reports also say, the results of crime prevention and combat in 2018 has exceeded targets set by the National Assembly. Particularly, the rate of successful investigation of criminal offences reached 82.58%, higher than the National Assembly's target of 12.58% while the country’s social order and safety also saw positive changes, especially in the struggle with economic crimes, corruption or drug-related crimes.
Party Chief, President Nguyen Phu Trong also emphasized that in addition to ensuring national security, social order and safety, the Central Party Committee of Public Security is an outstanding example in the implementation of the Resolution 18 of the Party Central Committee and the Resolution 22 of the Politburo. In implementing these important guidelines, the Public Security Force showed strong political will and efforts to quickly implement the policies on renovating the organizational structure.
He also urged the PSF to promote its role in ensuring national security, social order and safety, enhance the important position of the PSF in domestic affairs and society, and fight back all distorted allegations of hostile and reactionary forces.
