Attending the program were Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA; leaders of functional units and mass organizations of the Academy. The program also had the presence of typical youth faces inside and outside the Public Security force such as Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hoa Chi, Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Security, former Head of Youth Board of Police General Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach, Lecturer of Institute for Preventive Medicine and Public Health, Hanoi Medical University, one of 10 national outstanding youth faces in 2016, the youngest Associate Professor in Vietnam.

Being held in the vibrant atmosphere of the Youth Month in 2017, welcoming the 17^th PPA Youth Union Congress, the exchange program “PPA’s students - Startup journey” is one of the activities of the PPA Youth Union in response to the message of “Constructive Government - Startup Youth” that was emphasized by the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc at the launching ceremony of the program “Startup Youth” in the 2016 - 2021 period and the Startup Festival.

Startup is an important keyword in the process of seeking opportunities, development and perfection of the young generation today. For students of the PPA, studying, practicing in the specific environment of the armed forces, the concept of startup is still relatively new to youth union members. Many students of the PPA also wonder about the need for startup in the armed forces, suitable time for startup, how to prepare for startup, etc.

Answering these questions, at the program, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA emphasized three following contents of startup for the PPA’s students:

Firstly, actively study, scientific research, supplement soft skills such as foreign languages, informatics, etc. to accumulate knowledge right after entering the PPA because knowledge is the foundation of success.

Secondly, combine study with practice, the PPA’s students have to determine that the practice of willpower, bravery in the armed forces is a prerequisite for startup.

Thirdly, promote creativity, give initiative in study, practice and movement activities.

With the same opinion, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Xuan Bach asserted that: in the armed forces, startup is a strategic step in line with the current trend. Perseverance, willpower, bravery - the qualities that are formed in the armed forces environment will be the important elements for the PPA’s startup. In addition, the PPA’s students have to determine that: the value of startup is the creativity, the process of scientific research and the university environment is the cradle of those creative values.

On this occasion, Major General, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dang Xuan Khang, Vice President of the PPA called upon the PPA’s youth to promote the heroic tradition, initiative, creativity and activeness to build the PPA Youth Union to become a model Youth Union in the Public Security force.

On the eve of the 17th PPA’s Youth Union Congress, the Vice President of the PPA required the Youth Union to supplement the content of startup in the Resolution of the Congress for implementation in the next term. The PPA Youth Union should promote the role as a pioneer, continue to advice on strategic issues in training officers for the Youth Union, build the Youth Union in order to contribute to building the PPA to become a national key training institution before 2020.

The exchange program is a practical activity to concretize the direction of the Party Committee, the Board of Directors of the PPA to build and promote the movement of startup in the youth of the PPA from the first days at the PPA. The program is a great opportunity for the youth to listen to the opinions of presenters on experiences, methods and ideas as well as the necessary elements to prepare for startup also contribute to the orientation for the youth movement of the PPA in the coming time.
