Attending the ceremony were Lieutenant General, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the PPA, members of the Directorate of the PPA, especially were former Leaders of the PPA, former students of the first training-university course (D1) namely: Dr. Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Party Committee of Hai Phong City; Lieutenant General Cao Ngoc Oanh, Director General of the Enforcement and Judicial Assistance; Lieutenant General, Dr. Dong Dai Loc, Deputy Director General of the Administrative Management on Social Order and Safety.

Delegations and Representatives of the PPA’s Directorate inaugurated the Monument

Under the permission of the Ministry of Public Security, the support of the General Department of Enforcement and Judicial Assistance, the Suoi Hai Prison as well as the donation of expense from former students of the first training-university course, the Historical PPA Monument was built in June, 2013 on the area of 400m². The work includes three main parts: the ground, the pedestal and the Monument which was inscribed memorable landmarks of the first stage in the process of building and development of the PPA since 1968 up to 1990. Although this was difficult period, it was worthy of proud as from such hard circumstance, thousands of graduated students grew up and contributed their talents and knowledge to the cause of protecting political security and keeping social order and safety. Currently, many of them have been in the important positions in the organs of the Party, the Government and the Public Security Force.

Speaking at the Inauguration Ceremony, on behalf of the Directorate of the PPA, Major General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Thuat, Vice President of the Academy expressed his deep thanks to the Ministry of Public Security, the General Department of Enforcement and Judicial Assistance, the Suoi Hai Prison as well as the former students of D1 for their contribution and supports. He also proposed that the functional Departments of the PPA need to focus on researching, exploiting historical and cultural value of the Monument, organizing cultural activities to traditional education for generations of the officers, lecturers and students of the PPA. Besides, the Vice President of the PPA requested the functional Departments to preserve, protect and repair the Monument regularly to maintain its long term value.
