Under the permission of
the Ministry of Public Security (M.P.S), on September 27th, 2013,
the PPA in cooperation with Institute of Strategy and Science of the M.P.S held
the workshop on 45 years of achievement and development of the PPA under the
co-chair of Lieutenant General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Yem, President of the
PPA; Major General, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huy Thuat, Vice President of the PPA and
Colonel Nguyen Manh Thang, Deputy Director of the Institute of Strategy and
Science.
The workshop was held with two main purposes: firstly, evaluating
the achievement of the PPA, difficulties and its causes during the period of 45
years of building and developing; secondly, mapping out directions and
solutions to develop the PPA become a significant Police Training Institution
of the Public Security Force in coming time; deserving the honour of Hero of
the armed forces in the period of renovation which was awarded in 2012 by the State.
After 45 years of construction and development, the PPA has
gained an important position in the system of higher education in the whole
country in general and the Pubic Security Force in particular as well as in the
system of police training institutions of the regional countries. The staffs of
lecturers and officers are trained basically, have got the professional ability
and teaching methods. The training quality of the Academy has been improving,
many graduated students have become prestigious scientists and high ranking leaders,
some of them have been undertaken the position of high-ranking leadership of the
Party Committee, Government and the Public Security Force. The material
facilities of the PPA have been being gradually invested modernly in order to
meet the demands of teaching and studying, scientific researching of the
officers, lecturers and students.

At the workshop, the representatives proposed some
orientations and basic duties to develop the PPA become a significant Police Training
Institution of the Public Security Force in general and of the nation in
particular in the coming time. The Academy needs to make the detailed plans and
directions basing on main targets, directions which were defined in the 3rd Project (belonged to the
1229 Project) on building the PPA become a significant Police Training
Institution. It is necessary to set up specific scheme for selecting and
training the staffs of officers and lecturers to ensure both quantity and
quality.
The workshop got a lot
of useful ideas which contribute to building directions and plans on developing
the PPA become a significant Police Training Institution and a prestigious
scientific research Center of the Public Security Force as well as in the
system of higher education of Vietnam in the future.
