New academic and theoretical contributions of the thesis:

1. It has been the first comprehensive doctoral research in Vietnam on international cooperative activities between the Vietnam People’s police forces and police forces of ASEAN countries in the prevention and struggle against crimes.

2. Fundamental theories on international cooperative activities between the Vietnam People’s police forces and these of ASEAN countries in the prevention and struggle against crimes such as definition, principles, legal grounds, contents and cooperative form have been systematized and clarified.

3. Current situation of international cooperative activities between the Vietnam People’s police forces and these of ASEAN countries in the prevention and struggle against crimes is defined, ; results achieved, limitations and reasons regarding to these activities are also analyzed.

4. Results, recommendations of the thesis are likely to make contribution to enhancing and promoting the effectiveness of international cooperative activities between the Vietnam People’s police forces and these of ASEAN countries in the prevention and struggle against crimes in the current period.
